15 May – Jazz Meets Classical Armenian Music



Influental Syrian-Armenian singer-songwriter Lena Chamamyan is coming to Istanbul. Chamamyan, who is known as the emotionally rich voice of Middle East, gave her first concert at the age of five. She was educated in Eastern classical music at the Halep Conservatoire and worked on jazz and classical Armenian music. Chamamyan combined Oriental music and jazz on her first album entitled Hal Asmar Ellon, released in 2006. She won the Radio Monte Carlo Music Award that same year. Chamamyan, who released her second album Shamat in 2007, will take the stage at Istanbul Congress Centre’s Harbiye Hall at 8.30 p.m.
