19 May – ‘Portraits’ by Cecil Beaton
Cecil Beaton, who died in 1980 at the age of 76, was one of the most significant and multi-faceted photographers of the twentieth century, as well as an Oscar-winning costume designer. His captivating portraits will be shown for the first time in Turkey at the Pera Museum. The exhibition is curated by Terence Pepper, the senior advisor on photographs at the National Portrait Gallery in London, and will include portraits of artists, actors, writers, intellectuals and royalty from the 1920s to the 1970s. The exhibition, taken from the collection of Sotheby’s Cecil Beaton Studio Archive, can be visited until 26 July.
