Located in the Sariyer district, Sadberk Hanim Museum is Turkey’s first private museum. Its Turkish-Islamic and archaeological collections are exhibited in two separate mansions along the Bosphorus, with outstanding architecture and design. In the archeological section in the Sevgi Gonul Wing, artefacts from the pre-Islamic period dating back to 6000 BC can be seen in chronological order, while in the art history section called ‘Azaryan Yalisi’, Turkish-Islamic artworks are on display, including one of the leading Iznik ceramic collections in the world. The museum can be visited between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. except Wednesdays, with a special rate for Museum Pass holders.
