20 July – Turkish Press History Exhibited
The Press Museum features information and materials on the history of the Turkish press, which dates back to the sixteenth century. The museum is located in a historic Neo-Classical building from 1865 and was the original building of the former Darulfunun, the first Ottoman university. On display you can find a lithograph machine from 1870, an equally old German offset printing machine, copies of newspapers as well as thepaintings and personal belongings of those who contributed to the development of the press in Turkey. You can visit the museum every weekday, between 2 and 5 p.m.
